Our Pilates classes are low impact, total body conditioning which focuses on improving core strength, posture, mobility, coordination and balance. Our classes are run by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who has undertaken additional training in the Pilates method and applies a clinical approach to ensure each individual participant is working at an appropriate level by providing options for modifications, regressions or progressions. As such, these classes are suitable for anyone - including people who are rehabilitating from an injury all the way to active people who are looking for an edge to their performance.
All participants require an initial assessment with our Exercise Physiologist prior to attending classes. During the initial assessment the Exercise Physiologist will take you through some of the foundations of Pilates such as breathing, neutral posture and how to activate your core to ensure you are not overwhelmed when you start the classes.
The Exercise Physiologist will also assess your movement and you will be able to discuss any injuries, pain, or other relevant issues that you may be dealing with. The Exercise Physiologist can then provide guidance on which level to take or which modifications or props you may need to use to ensure your safety and that you get the most out of the classes.
Once you have completed an initial assessment, you will be booked into a regular class time. Classes run for 45 minutes.
