Lake Innes - Bunnings Complex
Prior to joining our team, Michael has been working with elite sports teams such as the Melbourne Storm and Parramatta Eels from the NRL, and most recently the GWS Giants from the AFL. He also treated the Australian pistol shooting team before they headed off to the RIO Olympics, as well as working with the famous Cirque du Soleil TUROK in 2016.
When not busy treating sports teams, Michael worked out of a weightlifting/crossfit gym and has helped many athletes for the last few years keep their bodies in check and in preparation for CrossFit, state and national weightlifting, strongman, and powerlifting competitions.
In his younger years, Michael played representative rugby union, so he knows the benefits that massage can bring to the body, both pre and postseason. As a result of playing football himself, he has suffered many injuries, including shoulders, knees, ankles, back, and neck, all of which help him understand and help treat pain and injuries for his clients.
Michael specialises in the treatment of MFR (myofascial release), which helps the facial sling systems and can significantly increase the mobility of all limbs. He also performs deep tissue and sports massage as well as trigger point therapy.
Michael is also an advanced dry needle therapist who is confident and skilled to needle the entire body. This is a treatment style Michael is most passionate about and has studied this area in-depth, so now he is able to needle the face to assist with jaw, headache and sinus pain.
Michael is skilled in IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), which he incorporates into his treatments to help increase blood flow and gain a better outcome for each of his clients.
Using IASTM along with his flame or vacuum cupping techniques, you are unlikely to find another therapist like Michael.
